Save McMillan Park supporters!
Over recent years, a consortium of developers (Vision McMillan Partners, or VMP) has sought to develop the 25-acre McMillan Park, owned by the District of Columbia and listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
SO FAR WE HAVE STOPPED THEM FROM DESTROYING OUR PARK.
Good McMillan Park supporters, its because of your pressure that we were able to get Kenyan McDuffie to issue a public statement regarding McMillan Park for the first time in years. He said he has long supported the "thoughtful, fiscal and socially responsible development at McMillan" and that he is "dismayed by the protracted development process." McDuffie reportedly lives on North Capitol Street, across the street from the park.
In reply to his statement, residents have asked the Ward 5 Councilmember important follow up questions, but now he's not talking about McMillan Park. See the Press Release about all of this here.
It's been more than two weeks since Councilmember McDuffie received a reply from residents. Will you help put some pressure on CM McDuffie to demand he respond.
Supporters of McMillan Park deserve answers to an unimaginary, harmful public property giveaway of our McMillan Park. Help us put some pressure on!
